goofyeuro Early 2002 an automotive technician of many years, I (Jim Short) saw the need for personable and reasonable auto care solutions for today's consumer. My vision included fair assessments to common car care as well as dealing with more "expensive" problems. My experience showed me that many consumers were not educated in how to properly maintain their investments,
or worse, treated with dishonest and ridiculous business practices when seeking auto advice or repair. While public opinion about auto repair businesses has not changed in many years, fortunately the technological aspect of today's cars and trucks has. Cars and trucks are more powerful and yet more efficient than those in years past, cars have seem to have gotten smaller but yet safer and stronger, the air we breathe cleaner. But at what expense? You, the consumer, should be aware of some pitfalls regarding bad automotive decisions and just like the expectations you have of your family physician, be given the opportunity to discuss your options with the caregiver. How many times have you been fully informed of the diagnosis / prognosis and correct
course of action and had explained the details regarding auto repair or service? In my experience many consumers never have. Today's auto professional is hidden in the back of shops and is not allowed to interact with customers for fear of "releasing too much information" or "conflict of interest" HOGWASH! Automotive technicians now are in some cases required to constantly educate themselves in order to retain recognition or in rare situations keep their job. Most of us truly pride ourselves in a job done right at a fair price. We would cherish the day when we are referred to as "automotive professionals" and not "grease monkeys" or "thieves".

Inspections, computer diagnostics, used car inspections, light maintenance & repair all at your location and convenience. At car-doctor, we encourage motorists to be available at time of services to educate themselves or to have questions answered. For those who cannot, e-mail or written reports with detailed findings will be sent to you within 24 hrs.
